Privacy policy – Socceroddshub.com

Running an information site about soccer odds needs little personal data, and Socceroddshub.com handles no more than that. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply. The text below also serves as the information duty under Article 13 of the UK GDPR.

Who is responsible

Under Article 4(7) UK GDPR the controller is the body operating Socceroddshub.com. Its name, address and e-mail address are available at socceroddshub.com, and the same route is used for any question on personal data.

Data collected

Opening a page makes the server write a log entry: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the volume of data sent, the referring page and the browser type. Logs exist for security and for spotting abuse, and after 90 days they are deleted or shortened until they no longer point to a person. A reader who writes to the publisher also supplies a name, an e-mail address and the message, used solely for the reply. The site has no reader accounts, takes no deposits and no bets, so payment details and identity documents are never collected.

Why the data is used

The controller’s legitimate interests in keeping the site working and secure (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) support server logs and abuse protection, and the same interest supports replying to messages. Any cookie beyond the strictly necessary ones, and audience measurement, depend on consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR together with regulation 6 of PECR) and start only when it is given. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing (Article 7(3)). No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

Who receives the data

Nothing is sold. Processors that host the site, deliver its content and handle e-mail receive data on the controller’s instructions (Article 28 UK GDPR), and public authorities receive it where the law demands. A transfer outside the United Kingdom happens only to a country covered by adequacy regulations or under appropriate safeguards, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum (Article 44 onwards).

How long data is kept

Server logs are kept for no more than 90 days. Correspondence stays until the matter is closed, plus the time needed to defend against possible claims. Giving data in a message is voluntary, though no reply is possible without it.

Rights of individuals

Each person may ask for access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and portability (Article 20), and may object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21). An answer follows without undue delay and within one month of receipt, a period that can be extended by a further two months under Article 12(3) where necessary.

Complaints

The supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). A person who believes that processing breaches data protection law may complain to it (Article 77 UK GDPR).
